What is LCCM?

Latinxs/Chicanxs for Community Medicine is a student run pre-health organization committed to improving the quality of health care in underserved communities. LCCM does this by first hand exposure to the communities in need. In addition, LCCM is aimed at providing assistance and motivation for students to pursue a profession in the health field.

What does LCCM do?

LCCM hosts weekly meetings for pre-health UCLA undergraduate students with health professional speakers. Additionally, through its branches LCCM provides opportunities for students to volunteer with under-resourced communities. LCCM also supports students academically through peer mentoring and by providing academic resources. LCCM serves underrepresented minority students by hosting an annual pre-health conference.

Who is LCCM's target population?

LCCM mainly targets UCLA pre-health Latinx and other underrepresented minority students as well as underserved communities in general.

How do I join LCCM?

To join LCCM all you need to do is fill out this membership form and you can begin joining our weekly meetings via zoom.

How is LCCM virtually adapting for the fall quarter?

LCCM is transitioning to online zoom meetings instead of in person meetings. The zoom link to our weekly meetings can be found on the homepage of our website. Membership requirements have also changed to minimize in-person contact.

What are active/participatory membership requirements?

Active and participatory requirements are conditions that members must fulfill in order to be considered either active or participatory. These can be found under the membership requirements tab on our website. Membership status earns members a certificate at the end of each quarter along with LCCM rights and privileges found in the LCCM constitution.

What is in LCCM's newsletter?

LCCM's weekly newsletter contains weekly announcements from each community service project and resources for our members. In order to receive our newsletter, you can sign up on the homepage of our website.
